Spinners Flock 18th Annual Winter Fleece Fair, 10 am to 4 pm, Saturday,
February 14, 2004, at Beach Middle School, 445
Mayer Drive, Chelsea, Michigan.  No admission fee, free parking,
handicap accessible.

This annual event offers supplies and equipment for handspinners,
knitters, weavers, felters and other fiber artists.  Items for sale will
include a wide variety of fleeces from animals raised by local guild
members; natural colored and dyed roving and batts; handspun
yarns; and other finished goods made by Spinners Flock members.  New and
used spinning wheels, as well as related tools and
equipment, books and supplies will also be available.  Demonstrations

February 2004, Texas

ROTFL, the Rowdy Outlaw Texas Fiber League, will host a MidWinter
spinning retreat in February, 2004.  Two nights in a gorgeous Texas Hill
Country lodge located near Austin Texas with workshops led by notable

Early 2004, Auckland Handweavers & Spinners Guild classes, New Zealand

Education through the Auckland Handweavers Guild [New Zealand] early
next year in Nuno Felting - create nice lightweight fabrics with some of
our finest NZ Merino sliver.  Creative Knitting Class with Jenny Hart -
very popular repeat class where you can learn to use many of your scraps
or if you need go out and buy a whole range a luscious colourways. Or if
you are not going to able to come both these crafts have regular meeting

The Academy of Spinsters 

The Academy of Spinsters. We are located in the small town of
Encampment, Wyoming. The town is located in a high (7400') mountain
valley. The school offers classes in Spinning, Dyeing, and
Fleeceweaving. Carol Lee is the owner and instructor, teaching fiber
crafts for the past 28 years. Lodging and all material provided in a
daily fee of $40. per person. We are available for groups up to 30
persons, with discounted rates applying. Ms. Lee is also available for

The Boll Weaver

Boll Weaver is located in Northern California in the coastal town of

Brigid's Farm

Classes and workshops in our studio/shop located on our farm in Peacham,
Vermont.  Fall classes include Beginning Knitting, Sock
Knitting, Dyeing to Knit, and Introduction to Spinning.  A two day
Natural Dye Intensive will be held Nov. 22/23.  Students will receive a
comprehensive dye notebook with instructional materials and
approximately 150 dye samples produced in the workshop.

Our studio is committed to the fiber arts.  Future classes in spinning,
knitting, dyeing, weaving, and surface design from beginning to advanced
levels.  Classes are taught by Jane Woodhouse as well as visiting
