I too have a Roberta and I can't seem to get it to cooperate with me. 
Perhaps I need to change techniques. For now, its now my husband's 
spinner.  I'm too much in love with my faithful work-horse, my Ashford 
Traditional and using long draw on all this Romney and Black Welsh Mountain.
