No, "nelbinding" is not one of the usual spelling variations.
When the message left my computer, the "a" in "nalbinding" had the little circle accent over it (Ron can probably tell us the name of that accent). Somehow that got changed in transmission.
I'll try it as nelbinding to see how it works. The e character is a normal Swedish alphabet character. It is not a familiar character in English.
"Nalbinding" (with the circle accent over the "a") is a Scandinavian term for needle looping and knotless netting. The term nalbinding is now used internationally to distinguish needle looping techniques from knitting, crochet, etc., More usual variations of the spelling are naalbinding, nalebinding, or nalbindning.
The Danish way of handling e is to use aa instead. It all works out in the long run. For real fun, examine Icelandic characters.
