I don't post often but read mostly. But I wanted to mention that awhile back someone offerred some sock end yarns, and she sent them to my daughter and me. It came in December too late to make hats for the homeless this year. My daughter and her friends and I made a bunch last summer and fall with our yarn, and sent them in to a place where they distribute them to homeless people in NYC, and I also made mittens that our Church gives out to poor kids in our area. Well, we got all this beautiful yarn from this lady so we decided to save it for next years projects. We plan to continue to make hats for the homeless. I wanted to mention that I made 2 hats so far out of the sock end yarns and they came out fantastic. I used three of the yarns together. My daughter is back at school and left most of the yarn here so I thought I'd try a couple. Probably won't get to the rest until she comes home in May but I wanted to assure the person that it is being used. I like to see how the patterns play out and I think the next one I do I will try to start with the smallest balls of yarn and keep adding on different colors. It is surprising how far the yarn goes when it looks like such a small amount. So thank you. And I am sure those folks who are donating their stashes to other projects are greatly appreciated. Marie (and daughter Holly)
