I just returned from being with my Mom while she was dying. It was a sad but not a bad thing. She had been on dialysis for 4 years (at the age of 87) and going off was something she really wanted to do. How lucky to have that choice!

While there I started working on some needlepoint projects she had almost finished to give to my daughter and daughter-in-law. At one time my sister and I were preparing to leave the Hospice and I said to wait as I had only 2 stitches to complete that particular piece. The next day I was working on a different piece and Mom joked that she thought I had done those 2 stitches yesterday. That was the day she died. What a great woman.

But I got so much peace working on the needlepoint she had been doing. My knitting stayed in its bag and I was too jangled to use the drop spindle I had brought.
