Some are more stable than others I found when looking for one. some even have four instead of three legs.
I bought mine for dyeing after trying to get a non crafting friend to give me hers. she was scared because when her family tried to use one for a turkey they almost set fire to the deck. The oil she says was at the line in the pot, but when the turkey went in it overflowed and a big fire resulted. They had a fire extinguisher etc but the experience wasnt pleasant.
