I've just discovered combing oil. I find it not only helps with the combing process but makes the fiber easier to draft when spinning. I needed to mix up a new batch yesterday, so will send you all my recipe. Mix together in a fine spray bottle: 4 ounces olive oil 3 ounces water 2 lecithin capsules - pierced 1 ounce rubbing alcohol
The lecithin capsules will dissolve in the mixture, but need to be pierced. Give the bottle good shake, lightly spray your fiber, scrunch it together a bit, and comb. Enjoy! It's Labor Day weekend here in the USA. The weekenders on our road are all here so it will be busy.
