What living history village (i.e. part of the country) are you working
with? I have some contacts too. Let's see if we can pool our research
to answer this question. I live in New England, but have worked with
several different sites during my 20+ years doing 17th Century
re-enactment up and down the East Coast.

I'm at the Mission San Luis in Tallahasseee, Florida--the "capital"
mission of the area. What we'll have here (we're at the beginning
stages) is a mixture of Spanish Colonial, mestizo, and Apalachee natives.
The mission was founded in the 1650's, and destroyed and abandoned in
1704 before a British attack.

It's interesting in that as well as being a living history museum it's
also an active archeological site. Costumed interpreters coming out of
the reconstructed buildings walk past the archeologists digging to find
another building foundation.
