This is very helpful.  Sorry for the confusion about the "luck of the
draw".  I had someone tell me that you couldn't actually breed for
fleece quality.  You just found sheep with the fleece textures you liked
and then hoped that you would get lambs with the same quality.  Since
all of my experience has been with cattle and horses, where I know
almost exactly what I am going to get when I cross a pair, this was a
bit of a let down since I am looking forward to the challenge of
breeding a top hand spinning fleece flock.  I am trying to find out
which breeds I can cross to come up with really good hand spinning
fleeces and still have good rate of gain for the excess lambs to go to
market.
