For those of you who've tatted, what shuttle featues do you like best?
what size, metal/plastic/wood , pointed/rounded ends, hooks/no hooks,
removable spool/winding slits, etc.
I like small-ish shuttles, and definitely like hooks on the end -
because I like to connect my rings and find this the most convenient way
to do it. I also like to use fine threads (tatting thread), and so like
very much the Aero shuttles, which have removable bobbins and metal hooks.
However, I have lusted after some of the beautiful wooden ones I've seen
here http://www.davidreedsmith.com/
and one day I'm going to get a few of those gorgeous wooden creations,
which are offered with or w/out hooks (and of course, I'll order mine
with hooks). The worst problem will be choosing which wood (s) <g>. I
really want one of each!!!
My daughter found for me a shuttle-winding tool at Lacis, which makes it
much easier to wind the spindles that do not have removeable spools.
