If I hold up a skein of homespun and it twists a bit to the left am I over plying or under plying? I think I am over plying a bit?

What I do is when it's plied - I check which way it's going and then twist it the other way and leave it until I'm ready to wash it etc - preferably the next day. It usually does the trick. I think one of the things you have to continually do if it's going off in another direction is to keep practicing spinning - small skeins until you have it to your satisfaction. Of course having it twist anywhere could lead you down an interesting path with whatever you are doing with your finished skein
