Anita, I have a couple of lightweight spindles, about 1/2 oz, that are good for spinning silk and other fibres.
They are called "Lizzie" spindles and are made by Adam Mielke. I got them from their Web site. http://www.mielkesfarm.com Last I checked they were out of stock, but that may have changed. They are smaller than other spindles but larger and easier to use than a tahkli, at least for my hands. Hoope this helps. Barb Anita wrote:
I'm wanting a new challenge and thought to order the book "Spinning Silk on a Top Whorl Spindle" but am wondering if that book advises a particular weight of spindle? Can anyone tell me? TIA Anita in sunny, cool NH, USA
