My first was an Oxford fleece from a sweet ewe named Linbo. It was very easy
for a beginner to spin and suitable for hats. Now I spin almost anything with
an end. I have a soft spot for a good Romney or Romney/Lincoln as I raised
those for years, ditto for Shetland and now my Icelandics. For sheer relaxed
spinning I like Merino for a wool. I also spin from our two llamas and alpaca
from
friends who raise those. I have rarely met a fiber I did not like to spin,
though some are far from relaxing 8-)
