Ok, not to participate in the "what is old" theme...but last week I saw the whole set of Foxfire books in Borders bookstore.
I used to own these. They aren't the "last word" or "best" instructions on how to do the crafts discussed, but they show how "real" people did them. I remember a lot of "well, this is how to make do when you don't have that tool, etc.". I think of them as cultural histories, great reading. Wish I hadn't given em away.
