I have found that most dye plant experiments dye yellows and golds. I wonder if it's a regional thing. I have used walnut leaves lots of times. I don't like dealing with mordants, and so this is nice and easy. And it doesn't seem to affect the texture of the wool, like other dyes often do for me.
