Hi Robin

My lambing experiance was only what id learned at my fathers side way back when
we had the farm before he passed away, from age 5 to 8 i was his lambing
companion, learned a heck of a lot & could feel my way round most miss
presentations. I started lambing this year really scared that i just wouldnt
remember, but with the help of our neighbours it all came flooding back & even
though after 3 weeks of being on the go from 4am to 11pm, ive utterly enjoyed
it all, know every lamb by the look of it & am pleased to say we havent lost a
single one. We have one caddy from our own ewes, a 5th time lamber had twins
instead of her usual single & just steadfast refused to accept that the 2nd
lamb was her's, but she let me take off some colestrum which i gave to the lamb
and that bonny wee ewe is now doing wonderfully & has 5 other caddy lambs that
we took from neighbours for company.

Shearing next & we have 8 ewes having risen & casting fleece already !
incredibly early for these parts but we havent had a winter to speak of, we
passed october to april in spring like conditions.

The start of my mini herd of pedigree aberdeen angus arrive next month so
equaly excited & then its the flock book sales & im after 6 ewe's and a really
good ram.
