Perhaps these minis had some other breed bred into them at some point...like
icelandic or shetland...possibly something that is known to have the 'rise'
each spring.  I know when we bred purebred icelandics years ago, they would
start to shed their fleece...we could actually roo them...but since we had
so many, the shearer would come.  Usually we waited until right before
lambing, otherwise the rise would be included in the autumn fleece, which
was the fleece that we would keep for spinning.
