Since we were discussing the pros and cons of organic methods of growing wool vs more conventional approaches, I wanted to share this post that came through another list this morning. It is, I'm afraid, an all-too-common occurrence. It's important to remember that anthelmintics are toxic chemicals, and must be used with care :

"I have waited for years to have lambs.
Finally got 2 lambs (1-ewe lamb and 1 ram-lamb). The person that we
purchased the lambs from wanted to worm the lambs before they left the
their farm. He gave them about 2inches of a syringe full(without the
needle)of the Ivomec Plus for cattle via mouth.

We didn't question what we was doing since we never had lambs
before. Within 12 hours the lambs were dead."
