I thought all of us breeder/growers might be interested in the Skeins
& Textiles competition at the Lambtown festival in Dixon, CA.
In the past, the competition only had classes for items made of 100%
handspun yarn. This year, they've added a division for commercially
spun yarn from the entrants animals (and home grown plants).
This year, they've also added a felted items division, and, to 'level
the playing field' the advanced artists are asked to enter in the
'advanced competition' so that they are not competing with novice and
hobby fiber enthusiasts.
If you can make it out for the event (Saturday July 28th only), do
so! Even if you can't come, mail in an entry!
If you can come, be sure to shop the wool, mohair and alpaca fleece
shows after the judging. Breeders can enter fleece in the show and
offer them for sale afterwards. Mail-in entries accepted for those
of you who can't make it.
