I just began reading Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story by
Leonie Swann. It is described as "A witty philosophical murder
mystery with a charming twist: the crack detectives are sheep
determined to discover who killed their beloved shepherd."
Though, I don't think the shepherd was beloved, the sheep didn't seem
to think that he was more than ordinary in sheep keeping. Heather
didn't like the fact that he had docked her beautiful tail, and he
wore sweaters of Norwegian wool rather than theirs.
The book seems to be also called Glennkill and The Third Sheep -
maybe titles in other countries>
The book is also available in CD
