Which part of Ireland is he in? Do you plan to travel
around the country, or stay close to his home base?

You can see some of the weavers at work, check out the
warping room, etc. at the Avoca Woollen Mills in the
town of Avoca, Co. Wicklow. There are a few other
Avoca stores in Ireland. Heck, there's even an
affiliated store here in the States, in Annapolis, MD.
You'll find the weavers and displays *in* Avoca,
though. If you've ever watched the BBC show
"Ballykissangel," Avoca's a nice stop, too, because it
served as the model for the village of Ballyk, and a
lot of the exterior shots were filmed there.

If you drive the countryside at all, you'll see lots
and lots of sheep. I suspect that's not what you're
looking for, though... ;-)

I just found this link and haven't had a chance to
really *look* at it...I think it's a list of yarn
shops...
