I can't *believe* how much great stuff is on this website, 
<http://www.getknitting.com>  I haven't looked around the machine 
knitting side much, but if it's as good as the handknitting side, then 
the site is doubly great :)

Just a small sampling:  standard size charts, needle comparison charts, 
'calculators' for working out the shaping of your project, and so much 
more I can't possibly list it all.

I suspect the site is British, though I haven't yet found information 
about who hosts it, but I think that adds to its usefulness to 
Americans, as it gives basic British terminology, so it can help us 
understand British patterns better.  Yep, finally found the info--the 
owner is Linda Black and in East Sussex.  I need to email her a thank you!
