Thanks, everyone who took the time to look :) I thought most responses
would be from IE users, who still have 70% of the market, but most came
from other browsers--don't know if it's that most fiber folk are
computer literate enough to leave IE, or just that most IE users didn't
respond :)

At any rate, I have the problem, I think, pinned down to IE 6.x (MS was
still coding to their own standards, not the web standards, when this
one was developed), and I might have worked out a solution that still
provides clean code. Tomorrow morning, maybe I'll have a chance to play
with it.

To those who commented on the links the test page led to--those links
that were live were to my old site, which will be replaced by the
revised site. A few of the page names (tutorial.html, for example) will
remain the same, but be changed in overall content. New pages will be
added. The gallery page will change entirely. Teaching pages will be
gone entirely, etc. So if you encountered dead links, it's because none
of the rest of the revised pages have been uploaded; and if you have
criticism regarding the old pages, well they're history, so don't worry
about them, wait til you can criticize the new pages :)

Holly
