Grouply.com has caused an uproar among informed listowners such as I've
never seen before.

Here is part of what I sent to my Yahoo Group lists when I removed them
from Grouply:

> Grouply is using member passwords to access Yahoo files and publish them
> for their own profit. With your password, they can access your Yahoo
> address book, Yahoo!Finance account information; your Yahoo! Security
> Key; all your Yahoo! profiles and identities; your OpenID key; your home
> address and telephone number; your Yahoo!Wallet information, even your
> Yahoo!Auctions account.
>
> In addition, Grouply violates Yahoo's TOS with regard to your copyright
> of your posted messages. If only one member of a list joins Grouply,
> they expose every message from every member to publication. This allows
> Grouply to harvest e-mail addresses and other information contained in
> the messages and send e-mails in the member's name.

However, it is no longer possible for a listowner to determine if there
are Grouply members on their lists by e-mail address.

The wildfire burned white hot for almost two weeks on lists for
listowners. Under the pressure, Grouply has yielded and given some 'fixes'.

If anyone wants more information or is a listowner wishing to know how
to get their groups safely removed from Grouply, please e-mail me off list.
