I think the problem arises from the fact that when we hear cleft lip or cleft palate, it's always referred to as a deformity. So, when we heard that sheep have a cleft lip, we thought deformity, not a description of the construction of sheep lips. As long as we're on cleft, quick! think of the number of handsome men you've seen, or met, who have a cleft chin. Would you consider that a deformity? -- wrnk d2
