Oh I love the Renfest. There is one that I attend as a demonstrator in Sioux Falls SD. That is coming up the 7-8th of June. I am not a member of the SCA so am not required to be accurate with my garb so I do a vaguely celtic look that is real easy and comfortable. I demo spinning and bobbin lace. Last year I took my charkha too even tho that is not anywhere near period. I got my Kromski Mazurka wheel specificly because of it's no plastic parts and more period look. I have Kumihimo to add to my list of things to do this year. Early June is frequently cool and muddy here. May be snowy this year the way things are going around here. They are most happy to have anyone volunteer to do demonstrations of old skills. We also have a Spirit of the West festival in the Fall that I attend. That is also very fun with lots of horses and shooting and very fun things to do and see. I get to dress in hoop skirts and fancy hats, oh but those tight things owwww.
