Holly-- It seems that the successful BL breeders are going for luster, length, and softness. Both the moorit BL I bought last year, and the white BLX (Border Leicester / Corriedale / Merino) I bought last weekend are long (at least 5-6 inches and usually closer to 7 inches), with good luster, and incredibly soft. When spun, they only need a moderate amount of twist (7-8 tpi?), and I get a nice, lofty yarn with a lovely halo, and (with the BLX) a shine like spun bombyx. The BLX came from Hub Corriedales; it was one of the fleeces used for the Breeder's Cup competition (which Hub won). NAYY, but a really, really happy customer. 8-D
