I wouldn't laugh at *any* tale that led to
Fibernet! :) I think that chain of happenstance
is interesting, to say the least. I didn't know
there were camps for learning Russian! Do they
still exist? DD would be very interested in
something like that.

We got our first home computer in
1980--Heathkit!--but we didn't get online until
94--anyone remember Prodigy and Compuserve? AOL
won out, but later we got wise and got independent :)

Speaking of the Internet and fiber--I have finally
gotten the Northern Michigan Lamb & Wool Festival
website fully updated for this year.
<http://www.lambandwoolfestival.com> There's
still 4 things I know of I have to update, but I
have to wait on others for 3 of them, and the 4th
I'm working on still.

When the booklet is out of my hands (Thursday, I
hope), then I can finally get back to FIBER in the
form of a 2-block twill linen shawl on the
Schacht, a 30-yard warp on the AVL for table
runners and napkins inspired by our guild napkin
exchange (16 shaft point twill threading), a set
of runner and napkins in the Baird plaid for my
sister, a wool exchange with the spinning group
that I'll do as a woven vest, and <sigh> ripping
out my beautiful fair isle sweater coat that
almost was, in preparation for redesign (way too
big it turned out in spite of a large gauge
swatch). And then there's all those baby blankets
to hem....
