Columbia supplies the U.S. with 90% of our cocaine. Columbia is participating in George Bush's "War on Terrorism" and drugs by helping Afghanistan to stop their heroin trafficking. Is Bush kidding? The idiot says with a smirk on his face and that shit-eating grin, that the latest wave of violence (14 Americans killed yesterday and 4 so fare today) will not deter the U.S. from fighting these _terrorists_ in Afghanistana and Iraq. No mention that there were not terrorists in Iraq or Afghanistan before the U.S. bombed them. The Warlords are in charge... Afghanistan is a piece of real estate where half the population has been wounded, maimed, displaced or killed in the last 20 years. Afghanistan is hardly a nation with national loyalties. It is a state fractured into multiple tribes and each is fighting over some real estate. The elimination of the governing Taliban has changed the dynamics of the area by emboldening many of the Pashtun tribal leaders to return and claim their role as tribal leaders cordoning off local territories once again. There is occurring another major shift in the balance of power. Thanks to the U.S. bombing, after more than 20 years, the tribal system is back again. And the Taliban is coming back also (as if they ever left).
