Fascist Strategy

By June of 2001 George W. Bush approval rating, like now, was in steep
decline in the polls. Even his constituency, that was much less than one
fourth of the country, those who actually voted for him (do the math).
And it is happening again. What that that portend for the future, or for
now? Will there be another catastrophe to push his popularity ratings up
again? I'd be real concerned right about now. I think the next couple of
years are going to be very, very hot around here. I told that to
"Cherokee" Jane last night and for once she agreed with me.

Less than 1/2 vote at all, for anyone, and he lost the popular vote in
2001, by at least 500,000 votes and everyone was beginning to wonder about
his foreign and economy policies except for most of us on the left who
knew this moron didn't have any policy. Boy, were we wrong. He had a plan
and we were to find out what it was. It is George Bush and the plan was
devised by the neocon and even published by them and it is to lead us all
to fascism before George Bush leaves office.

Was 9/11 a gift? It was a gift they gave themselves.

"For many Americans, the disaster of 11 September 2001, was a religious
moment. At least for a short time after the attack prophetic utterances
abounded. The spectre of sudden death on a mass scale strikes at the heart
of people's beings. It was characterised as a "defining moment" for a
country which had lost its way. There were overtones of the infidels being
used, like the Assyrian coming down as a wolf to the fold, as the hammer
of God to punish a wayward people. The right-wing evangelist, (*) and
chancellor of Liberty University, Jerry Falwell, said that God had let the
terrorists attack the World Trade Center because he was fed up with the
pagans in America. (**) He announced on television that "the terrorist
attack was the fault of ACLU (the American Civil Liberties Union),
abortionists, feminists, homosexuals, and others, who provoked God's
wrath". (***)"

(Sources: [Graham Maddox - "The "Crusade" against Evil: Bush's
Fundamentalism" - (Journal) The Australian Journal of Politics and
History, Vol. 49, 2003] (*) The terms '"evangelical" and "fundamentalist"
require some refinement; see for example Philip C. Almond,
Fundamentalism, Christianity, and Religion, Armidale, The University of
New England, 2001: "Broadly speaking, fundamentalism is the extreme end of
that form of Protestantism known as Conservative Evangelicalism", p.5.
(**) Katha Pollitt, "Egg on the Brain", Nation, Vol. 274, 8 (4 Match
2002), p. 19. (***) Tony Cames, "Bush's Defining Moment: the President,
facing a grief-stricken nation under attack, finds his voice and his
mission", Christianity Today, Vol. 45, 14 (12 November 2001), pp. 38-43
(Falwell's statement reported in indirect speech).

That September 11th became George Bush's "defining moment" should not be
any surprise - since this was the worse catastrophe experienced by this
country since Pearl Harbor.

"The terrorist attacks brought the focus once more clearly on the
President. The Vice-President of the National Association of Evangelicals,
Richard Cizick, said: "Bush's stature as a leader rose right before your
very eyes". (Carnes, "Bush's Defining Moment", p. 38.)

However, it has all been a lie: the "BIG lies" of the country's most
fascist president, George W. Bush, which he has gotten away and continues
to get away with. How many participated in the cover-ups? How many were
complicit in this scam?
