INFOLIT Seminar Participants Wowed by Authentic Speakers Last Sept. 10, 2008
 
Fifty-eight (58) seminar-workshop attendees crowded the conference room of the 
Edilberto P. Dagot Hall – library building of the Philippine Normal University 
last September 10-11, 2008 for “Library & Information Literacy Power Packages” 
of the PNU-LISAA, Inc. – a caring alumni group.
 
Two (2) LIS students registered – Nelah Miado from the University of the 
Philippinesand Johanna Jayne Tacus from the Philippine Normal University.  
Tacus is the Association’s scholar and president to one PNU LIS undergraduate 
society.

40% or 23 LIS alumni of PNU with three LIS faculty namely University Librarian 
Dr. Maria A. Orendain, Prof. Ruben P. Marasigan and Prof. Miguel M. Cobaria 
were in attendance.
 
Certificates of appreciation were presented to Ms. Brinerdine Alejandrino of 
Thomas Jefferson Information Center, former BFL Chair/DLSU Library Director Ms. 
Perla T. Garcia and Ms. Elvira Lapuz of the University of the Philippines  for 
their support to Philippine Normal University-Library and Information Science 
Alumni Association, Inc. or PNU-LISAA, Inc, in its mission of sharing and 
enriching the knowledge of fellow professionals and library personnel on 
information literacy with customers’ competencies in mind through authentic 
learning servingas lecturers to the Association’s seminar-workshop on “Library 
& Information Literacy Power Packages” given in the Conference Room of the E.P. 
Dagot Hall.
 
The Association would like also to thank Arturo O. Morales III of DILG Local 
Government Academy for the HUSAY BALANGAY 2002 Edition,  Director Ryza 
Alenzuela, Ms. Brinerdine Alejandrino and staff of Thomas Jefferson Information 
Center for 2008 & 2006 World Almanac & Book of Facts copies, and Ms. Jocelyn 
Haling of Saint Michael’s College of Laguna for Internet cards distributed to 
seminar participants.
