There are places farther north of Luzon, like Pagudpud and Claveria, but since it will be my first time to drive all the way from Laoag to Aparri, I at once accepted the invitation, without any hesitation. As soon as we left Vigan for Laoag, I knew it would be nearly impossible to cross the north in 5-6 hours. All the way, road and bridge repairs delayed my travel time. It was only after Pasuquin, then Burgos, and Bangui, that I managed to drive past 120kph. After Pagudpud, we slowed down as we went zigzagging along Sta. Praxedes, until we reached Claveria. From Claveria to Lal-Lo, passing by the old brick church that once was the seat of the diocese of Nueva Segovia, was more than 3 hours.
