Philippine Expressions Bookshop had just finished their Authors Series # 3 on
Friday, April 30.
To close their events for Spring 2010, they have organized a small No Host
Dinner for Filipino author
Miguel Syjuco on Tuesday, May 4. This will allow guests to know him better over
food and wine. The
venue will be given once you send an RSVP.

He will be appearing at the LA Public Library the next day, May 5 at 7:00pm and
we encourage everyone
to attend the library event as well. Miguel Syjuco was the 2008 Man Asian
Literary Prize winner for his
debut novel, Ilustrado (Farrar, Strauss and Giroux, 2010). He also won the
Palanca Award for the
unpublished manuscript of Ilustrado. Born and raised in Manila, he currently
lives in Montreal.

Miguel Syjuco will be at the Los Angeles Public Library Reading "ALOUD" program
with Cecilia Manguerra
Brainard as the moderator. To make reservations, visit www.lfla.org (Library
Foundation of Los Angeles).
It is free. If you will be unable to attend, we accept orders for a signed
copy of Ilustrado. Just email
<[email protected]> for more details. Or come to the
dinner and he will sign the
book for you.
