Thank you:)  These are the suggested mechanics:
1. Students will hunt for the most discipline classmate or schoolmate in the
library every end of the month. Someone who is not only studying quietly but is
also organize and follows library rules.
2. They will send in their nominations to their library through SMS, which is
the most convenient way to join: type LFA space complete name space grade or
year and section and send to the library's YM or chikka account. The library
staff can copy each entry and paste to MS EXCEL for sorting and scoring.
3. Every month their names will be posted on the library bulletin.
4. The names with the most number of nominations will be awarded. The
Library-Friendly Award could be given during the National Book Week or every
end of the school year or semester in the form of cash, token, or certificate/
gift certificate (GC), an out-of-town/country tour, a set of books, and more.

Hope you'll like it!

A pleasant day to all:) The last time I joined the PAARL seminar was

in 2007. I remember Prof. Nera challenged us about evidence-based

research. Noise control is one of the problems she mentioned. On my

part, I thought of a scheme that might be useful. It is creating a

competitive spirit in our library users. I believe that competition

helps improve ones product and services. Like in other industries,

they have students choice award, teacher of the year award, Early Bird

award, and the like. For us, I propose for "Library-friendly Award" .

Students will nominate the most disciplined classmate or schoolmate

inside their library. It could be done monthly or yearly. Keeping

silent for a time in a place like the library takes self-discipline.

Some students are intrinsically motivated and the rest are extrinsic.

For the extrinsic learners, rewarded competition, I belive, is

helpful. I haven't tried this scheme yet. It just popped off my head

days ago:) . I'll be back later for the mechanics:) Have a great day

ahead!
