Call for Applicants for the PAARL Conference Grant
This grant shall enable the member to attend and participate to the PAARL 2011
Summer Conference to be held in San Antonio Resort, Roxas City on the theme
"Library Tourism & Hospitality: The Business of Endearing Philippine Libraries
and Information Centers to Publics"
The grant shall cover the Conference Registration and Accommodation.
Requirements of the Grant
Applicants to this grant must meet the following qualifications:
* PAARL membership for the last five (5) years
* Permanent employment in an academic or research library
* Not a recipient of a previous PAARL award
To apply:
* Submit a committed letter of application ad a well-organized CV
* Declare that they are able to fund other costs not covered by
the grant
* Write a report on their attendance and participation to the
conference
(within 15 days after the Conference) which will be published in the PAARL
Newsletter

2. Objectives of the Conference:
a. to draw a marketing landscape for libraries and information centers in
bringing out a service differentiation, library hospitality plus successful
repeat service, that sends not only online but a worldwide impact satisfying
patrons with huge resources in and outside of the library;
b. to promote library services and products in a business-like manner that
seduces clients to go back again and again and become their solid patrons not
only to fill up their chairs and spaces but also to interact and be involved
responsibly with personal causes; and,
c. become "community solution centers where people are learning new skills,
