The Philippine Librarian Association, Inc.-Western
Visayas Region Librarians Council (PLAI-WVRLC) will be holding its 2014
PLAI-WVRLC Regional Conference and
General Assembly on 2-3 October 2014 at Henry Luce Library, Central
Philippine University, Iloilo City with the theme “Libraries Moving Forward:
Facing the Challenges in Education Today”.
The conference aims to: update Western Visayas (WV) librarians and information
professionals on the current issues affecting the LIS profession (i.e. ASEAN
Integration, Outcomes-Based Education
(OBE) etc.); update WV librarians in the current accreditation
standards and requirements; and gather all WV librarians and information
professionals and elect new set
of PLAI-WVRLC officers.
PLAI-WVRLC Librarians are encouraged to
renew their PLAI Membership Annual Dues for 2014 in the amount of Three Hundred
Pesos Only (P300.00) to avail of the discounted registration fee for PLAI
members.
Registration fee are as follows:
Non-PLAI Member Php 1,500*
PLAI Member Php 1,000*
LIS Undergraduate Student Php 500**
*Inclusive of meals (2 lunches, 4 snacks) conference
kit and certificates.
**Inclusive
of meals (1 lunch, 3 snacks) conference kit and certificates.
Participants
shall be responsible in booking their own hotel accommodation.
Librarians,
teacher-librarians, library and IT staff/personnel, record/ information
officers, LIS students and other information professionals in Western Visayas
are invited to attend the said conference. Please contact any PLAI-WVRLC
officers for reservation and for any inquiries.
