I would strongly recommend you get a scanner that Binuscan supports. Users
        on this list have reported rave reviews of Binuscan to correct negatives
        that were uncorrectable by all other scanner software.

As an aside, I bought & evaluated Binuscan, but in spite of
my respect for the person at Binuscan with whom I corresponded
about the results, I decided it's not for me. The clincher was
the fact that unsharp masking is hard-wired. There were
problems with color relating to having Adobe98 RGB as my chosen 
working space, and with the truncation of thin outlying areas 
of histogram deleting details.
