I agree.  However, at least from my perspective, I'm not interested
in objective analysis in this case.  I'm interested in how the same
photo looks when scanned using the same method on different
scanners.  Not for the purpose of deciding which scanner is better
than another, but for seeing how well my scanner is doing.  This
gives me some idea how much trouble I should take in fiddling with
particular images trying to get something out of them - if it's not
going to happen, I won't bother!

I for one never looked at this exercise as a replacement for Tony's
more controlled comparisons.
