Hi,
Yeah, I have to say that once you add in the ICE on a 1200 + dpi
pass my scan time really increases.
The slides I have been scanning lately have been 4 year old
Kodachrome and Ektachrome with TONS of dust particles and little
hairs. I get rid of most with air and a soft brush, but there is
NO WAY I could remove those artifacts by hand in the same amount of
time as the scanning process takes.
I spent the extra money on the ICE technology because very soon
myself and a friend will be scanning for archival purposes his
grandfather's slides. We gonna need all the technology we can get
a hold of.

p> It works very well, but it's really sloooow, more than doubling the scan time.
p> I could retouch most of the dust spots by hand in the extra time, or take a
p> minute longer cleaning each slide.
p> BTW, with the 2740s, digital ICE definitely *doesn't* work with Kodachrome.
p> Regards, Pete.
