As I write this, I'm doing a 4800 dpi scan of an E100S 24x65mm transparency (Noblex) using the Minolta software, no ICE, no GEM, in the glass medium-format holder, using the Multi Format 35mm setting. I'll post a slice of the image on my website for examination by anyone interested in (not observed by me so far) Newton Rings and other qualities of a raw scan from the Multi Pro. I've done less than half-a-dozen scans with it, so this sample may not represent the best the unit will do. I guarantee it will be dusty.
I'm waiting for Ed's answer to my query about using VueScan and a modified 35mm filmstrip holder. What I propose to do is remove one frame divider, in the middle, and file notches in the bottom to replicate those on the medium-format holder. I don't doubt that it will work with the Minolta software, but wonder about VueScan. Since the filmstrip holders are only $54 and glassless, this will be worthwhile if it works. Maybe I'll go so far as to move the divider to the correct position rather than just removing it. Denis M. Shall we really need these glass holders for scanning 24x65 at max def? Thanks and best regards.
