As discussed elsewhere, "Reply to All" is not a universal feature. As for the rest, I don't agree. Several of the messages on this list I've found most interesting are those in which one person answers the direct question of another, and I am merely eavesdropping. If threads don't remain on the list, it rather defeats the point of having a list in the first place, I think. I know that plenty of private correspondence takes place between list members as well, but I don't think that warrants making it the default. Among other things, the address for the Finale list is known to all members, whereas the address of the individual poster may or may not be munged. Also, as I understand it, "Reply to All" will send a message to the original poster AND the list. I just read two messages from Dan Carno replying to Johannes Gebauer which were addressed like that, presumably because Dan used a "reply to all" feature. Doesn't that mean that Johannes received two copies of this message? What advantage can there be to this? Anyone who posts to the list is surely a subscriber, so there's no need for the extra copy. I know I would find it annoying if I received two copies of the message every time someone answered one of my mine. Anyway, this is all moot now, since the Reply-To header has been restored. mdl _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
