Here is my general advice, others may differ:

If your work is mostly home, ie non-business, and you don't have to do
musical examples in text documents (or anything that requires you to export
part of a Finale page as graphic) a non-postscript printer may well be good
enough.

If you use Finale professionally, (perhaps along with some graphics
applications), a postscript printer is better, more flexible. The main
reason is the ability to print EPS graphics, which is a real bonus if you
need musical examples in other docs.
