I teach a class that uses a very simple MIDI program, Impromptu, which comes
with a General Education book called "Developing Musical Intuitions." Last
year, on a variety of Macs (Sys 9.1), no problems. This year, on some of
the same Macs, plus some faster ones, booting in 9.2, the MIDI playback has
hesitations, pauses, and general rhythmic jerkiness. The only computer on
which the program plays smoothly is mine, which has everything the same
except it uses Sys 9.1 instead of 9.2.2. It may be the CD/DVD driver --
I'll try it. Thanks for the tip. I hope that will fix it.
