Hi,

I've been off the list since last summer so I apologize if I'm covering
old ground. I have two questions:

1) I'm doing a piano piece with a lot of cross-staff notation. I'm
finding it difficult to notate so that the beam lies between staves with
stems going up and down from it. With special tools, I can make it work
with eighth notes but 16ths pose additional problems. Is there an easy
way to do this that I've missed?

2) Does anyone else find the default reduction in the setup wizard
annoying? I still prefer to handle page reduction the way we all had to
in version 1, that is, enlarge the page in Finale and then reduce it
proportionately on printout. That way I always see the score at the same
full size whether in scroll or page view. I don't really care about the
85% default -- it's been like that for several versions -- because I can
change it. What I don't like is that this default is identified as being
100% when I go to change it. And even when I do the math to correct this,
it doesn't look exactly right on screen, to my eye anyway. I've just
given up on the setup wizard and start all pieces using old templates.

Again, am I missing something?

Thanks.
