If you want to edit in Simple Entry (F2k2): just Ctrl-click in the original staff above the note to highlight it then move up or down with cursor.
If you are on a version ealier F2k2 go to 'Options/Document Settings/Document Options' and check: 'Display Cross-Staff Notes in Original Staff'.
