I have had an HP LaserJet 5000 for a year and give it my unqualified highest recommendation. I get superb results printing scores and parts on 28 lb. 11x17 paper (parts are folded in half). The parts for an orchestral piece I had premiered in April were so crisp and clean that some of the musicians were a little reluctant to mark them up. I would highly recommend you get the base model and purchase an extra 32 or 64 MB SIMM separately (Kingston makes high quality RAMs at less than 10% of the cost of HP memory). If you're networking the printer, it is also cheaper to buy the JetDirect 610N separately and install yourself (extremely easy). The only negative I can think of is that it's a little bigger than most desktop printers, but then it does handle up to 12x18. As for pricing, I wouldn't depend on what someone else happened to find online. Start with Google and spend a couple of hours searching electronics stores and "web shopper" sites. It's good exercise and you'll be more confident you got a good price. -Lee _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
