Well, I can only speak from experience on my system, and it indeed only
behaved the way I stated above.  I do recall time after time when I'd hit
the 7 key instead of the 4 key and I'd just cancel and get back to work.
Your system may indeed have behaved differently.  If I remember correctly,
this was back in F2K1 and I was probably using Mac OS 8.xx.  I am now on OS
9.2.1 so I think I venture back to F2K and F2K1 and see how it behaves under
this system.
