Below is my Wish list as it is going to be sent to Coda, unless I have
forgotten something.

------------------

Bugs and problems to be fixed:
------------------------------

- Fix grace note spacing to work (it never worked, so it's not really a bug)

- Fix independent time sig spacing (to see the problem, create a document
with two systems, top system with independent meter. Top system 12/8, bottom
system 4/4. Enter one measure of 16th in the top system, one measure of 8th
in the bottom system, space the measure and see)

- Please give us back the cancel button in the "Too many beats" dialog in
Speedy

Feature additions:
------------------

- allow clef changes to appear after the clef/key/meter area at the
beginning of a system, including in the very first measure of a file

- better entry method for expressions (ie type into score)

- autoplacing expressions with options like articulations.

- music spacing to work with multi-layer parts with several accidentals.

- easier playback adjustment, ie playback of hairpins etc

- part extraction to properly support title pages (currently all blank pages
are not transfered to the parts, at least the blank pages at the beginning
of the file should be transfered.

- engraver slurs avoid collisions with ties

-the ability to customize keyboard commands (I know this can be done in the
Windows version, but in the Mac version this is virtually impossible due to
some very odd use of GUI elements. This makes it very difficult to use
Finale with foreign keyboards, hardly any of the commands work)

- an extension to the chord tool to make it fully usable for figured bass.
This would include:
-individual naming for chords (to work with Type into Score)
-access to the shape designer for chord symbols

- rudimentary support for house styles perhaps like this:
more fields in the File Info (including some custom fields), plus an easy
way to copy a complete file into a new template, including the new File info
fields (for standard textblocks), all music data (including clef changes,
expression assignments etc), page breaks etc.
Ideally I would like some sort of semi-automatic process to replace
articulations with those from the new default. (Ie on changing the house
style, a dialog whether articulations from the existing file should be added
or whether it should be asked for each one of them whether they should be
replaced by one in the new default.

- The ability to copy a text block (including the frame) from one location
to another. This would not enable a block to appear on two discontinuous
pages, but would also allow you to make a dupe and then edit the copy
separately.

- improvements to speedy entry: more intelligent accidental handling like
enharmonics lasting to the end of the measure. When entering without a
keyboard accidentals to last for the whole measure (optionally).

- extension to mirrors to make it work for cue notes and full conversion of
mirrors before part extraction including slurs.

- Optional Anti-aliasing for screen display, including for beams and slurs.
