I have had an undesirable result with this, but it may be unlikely with the usual crowd here. I entered a jazz shake as an articulation that stretched across a half note tied to a dotted quarter. When I spaced, the articulation pushed the dotted quarter past it's boundary at its right-hand edge. I had to turn off "avoid collisions between articulations" and respace this measure in every part (13 of 'em!), which was somewhat of a drag. But it beat the alternative, which was to leave articulation collision off and having to respace every measure that had a scoop or a fall-off, which was many more! This is a beef of mine with the collision avoidance algorithm. Finale assumes that the next note MUST have an articulation (or a chord symbol, or a lyric, or a staff expression that is note-attached, etc.) and avoids collision by pushing the next note right, regardless of whether there actually IS a collision or not! Oh, well, I'll add that on to the list of beefs I have... _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
