from what i understand, screen display is controlled by afm files.  i could have 
misunderstood though.  without the afm files [i'm on mac] i can't see the PS fonts at 
all on screen.

the following info appears at the top of the jazzcord.afm [not that posting this info 
necessarily clarifies anything, but here it is anyways]:

but then pierre posted the following,

so i don't know what to think now.   if you install the afm file - but not the TT -, 
does the problem disappear, and the font appear?

does anyone know if printing to a PS printer will automatically use the PS file 
without exception when both TT and PS are installed?

if it doesn't work, it is too much of an inconvenience and has to be resolved 8^)
